   It works exactly as advertised. I’ve charged it with one of my boat’s solar panels, using an XT60 connector (a common non-proprietary connector, contrary to another reviewer). I’ve charged it at both of the supported rates with AC power. The “ambience” lights are silly, but easily turned off via a button on the front panel. There aren’t many power stations at this price point that can output power at this rate. I’ve used it to power (AC) tools, a portable induction stovetop, and my laptop via USB.

   I have used this power station only for a few days and so far it has proven to be easy to use and it delivers the performance advertised.
   It is quick to charge, even at a much lower charge rate than maximum. It is not particularly loud when charging.
   The design of its atmosphere is amazing. I can control its on and off and change the mode through the APP.
   Best part is the ease of use. Plug stuff in, push the little ‘AC’ or ‘USB’ on buttons and it just works. This unit keeps us powered remotely for exactly 3 days at a time between recharges – running light power tools (drills, etc.) and all the LED lights in our shipping container, plus charging phones, laptops and tablets. Fast recharge is great. We found it charges 10% per hour with the DC car charger while driving, and it’s probably somewhat helpful for the life of the unit to have it charge slowly like this. Very pleased with it so far.
   Love the ability to access so much info (state of charge as %, time to charge, wattage draw in-and-out, etc.) via the digital display. We can keep an eye on it minute-by-minute to know when we have to plan a break to recharge and then still have power for overnight camp use.
   I have tested it by using it to power my CPAP machine. In this application, it is silent. I calculate it would be able to operate the CPAP machine between 4 and 7 nights. My machine heats the humidifier water and the breathing tube. Other machines might do even better if they don’t have these features.
   Our freezer just barely kept most if the food safe, but running it for an hour or two once or twice a day would certainly extend that safety margin considerably, and the power station could probably handle that for a day or two and still provide adequate cell phone charging and enough time on the CPAP machine to keep me safe for a few nights.

   I like the product, as advertised and the next best thing I could get after much research, I didn’t want a gas generator as I am not mechanical,and I heard friends after hurricane Milton say..it just stopped running and I don’t know why…that would be me! Plus no one could get gas!! I have tested this unit to she what it can do so I know ahead of time…it kept my wife’s hospital air mattress bed inflated for over 48 hours…I in the near future will get a second one just to be in really good shape. Very portable,and recharged in house outlet to 100 percent in about 40 mins. I ordered through tugapower.net which got me a 200 dollar off coupon so that helped as well. Would recommend to anyone not wanting to deal with a gas generator and all that involves and you keep this anywhere you want to in the house and it is super silent to boot.

   I discovered that the AC outlets are wired incorrectly when I could not use the Andes 1500 as a power backup for my furnace – even when in AC pass-through mode – due to reverse polarity of the outlets generating a furnace error code to that effect, which I confirmed with an outlet tester. The AC works for polarity-insensitive devices (eg the thermostat and blower fan function) but any sensitive electronics (eg the ignition system) may not function correctly.

   UPDATE: Seller got in touch with me right away. Says the extra batteries WILL be available about May 2025. I’ve raised my rating from1 to 3 stars due to their quick response and clear answer. Will have to now wait and see if they actually offer additional batteries in the Spring. If so, I’ll UPDATE my review again. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Works GREAT as a standalone unit, but one of the reasons I bought THIS unit (Ampace 1500) was because they promoted that you could connect additional batteries to extend usable time. GONE from their website, GONE from their tugapower.net Store, are ANY mention of those additional battery packs. From the user manual: “An additional battery can be connected to increase the power capacity of the Andes 1500.” “Using extra battery -This product can be connected with up to seven extra batteries at the same time, to meet higher capacity needs.” (The image is from the manual, too.) Now I’m wondering how dependable the company is for other claims. I noticed another reviewer gave a lower rating for the same reason, too. Are there extra batteries for this? If so, what is the cost and availability? If not, can I get a full refund on my purchase (from) Oct 8, 2024? I’ll update my review/rating after getting a response from Ampace.
