This 50 Amp Generator Cord is of great quality and most importantly the conductors are solid copper and properly sized for the rated amperage and length. That is not the case with many competing cables. I have looked at several which would be properly sized if they were 10 feet. But they use the same gauge conductors for the 50-foot cable. This results in unacceptable voltage drops over the distance. This cable has a calculated voltage drop ≈ 3.2V or about 1.3% at 240 Volts and 50 Amps. The voltage drop only goes up to 1.6% at 60 Amps. only 2% at 75 Amps. So, there is generous headroom. This cable is of sufficient size for me to use it with my trailer mounted 20 KW standby generator to power my house or cabin if I am conscious of the load. In reality, though I have 200 Amp service, I never pull anywhere close to that.
This is one of the nicest cables I have used. The insulation is nice and thick. You have copper conductors. The connectors are of great quality. The length is perfect . The cable is priced very competitively. I can definitely recommend this one.
