   For review today, I’ve got the GENORTH 45in Adjustable Solar Panel Mount Brackets for 100-400 Watt Solar Panel,with Foldable Tilt Legs,Solar Panel Mounting Brackets Kits for RV, Roof, Boat, and Off-Grid. These are nicely built, sturdy aluminum mounts. They come with spare M6 cap head bolts that they intend for you to use to mount your panels and the cross beams to the brackets. I personally would have preferred they use the same M8 hardware across everything just so you wouldn’t need multiple Hex bits, tho they did include some hex keys. As it is currently, you need a 5mm hex bit for the M6 bolts and a 6mm hex bit for the M8 which are the ones that hold the angle adjustment and the hinge pieces together. I do understand why they are using the smaller M6 bolts since I have run across some 100w solar panels whose holes were too small for the M8 bolts I was using, causing me to need to drill out the holes in the panel frame. Tho, while I’d still prefer M8 across the board for simplicity, I won’t hold it against them at all. You only have to drill out a panel mounting hole once whereas you might want to adjust the angle or tighten the mount fasteners down a bit more often. Comparing these to other, very similar mounts, that are produced under many brand names, that I own a few sets of, those come with plastic knob bolts and wing nuts for the 2 places that hold the angle setting bracket piece in place. While that is quicker and easier on initial setup, I’m not sure how long before the plastic knob breaks leaving just a regular hex head bolt that would require a wrench to adjust. These use the M8 cap head bolts with nuts instead. I would probably just prefer to avoid the plastic knobs and stick with the M8 cap head across everything. This one has some holes numbered that might be useful for some with repeatability when you adjust or setup multiple brackets. I just want to point out, in another review where someone is complaining that the mount isn’t sturdy and appears to be using it for a flexible panel while they aren’t using the included braces so of course it isn’t going to be sturdy in that instance. That would be more of a PEBKAC issue instead of one with the mount. At the time of review, these are the exact same price, for one pair, as the normal price of the set of name brand brackets except these come with 2 extra cross braces. If these will have the frequent coupons/sales that brings the price down like the others do then it’s a no brainer for me to get these GENORTH ones over those when I need more mounts in the future. I wouldn’t pay more for these over the ones without the cross bracing tho because I mount the bottom of mine to built wooden stands and the top is already plenty sturdy when you have solar panels mounted to them. If you were just wanting to use these mounts alone with solar panels then the bracing would definitely help keep the bottom from spreading when not mounted to another surface and they would be worth a little more than the others and are equally if not slightly more well made quality material.
