   The cord included in this kit is fantastic. Super heavy cable with a well-protected outer layer and both plug ends are installed well and water-tight. The receptacle included is very good, but they did cut a couple of minor corners doing the rubber grommets instead of more substantial plugs for the un-used holes, and for whatever reason the lid of mine doesn’t snap *as securely* as another similar receptacle I own. Don’t get me wrong, it snaps closed just fine for most intents and purposes on a house or building, but if say, you were considering installing the receptacle on something like an RV or camper van… I’d be slightly worried that enough highway breeze and turbulence could potentially flap this one open. Again, I think it will do fine in its normal intended installation on a house or structure, I’m just saying I have seen some that snap closed just a *little* more securely than this.

   50amp rated to safely connect a generator to your home. Don’t forget to install an interlock for your power service. The cord is a heavy 6/8awg rated for 50 amps. This will safely power a dryer (usually only 30a) and even a cooking range/oven that are usually heaviest draw in your house at 50a. Well built, very flexible and easy to use. Solid connections at both ends and water tight fittings. T

   The only downside I could find is the manufacturer went a bit cheap on the box by using soft rubber plugs on all the pre opened cable entry ports. A child could poke them out with a finger.

   I recently upgraded the generator I used to power my home in emergencies here in the Northeast due to the increasing volatility in the weather and the storms that we are getting I needed to move up with the times the new generator requires a 50 amp connection box in a 50 amp cord my old cord just wasn’t enough when this arrived I was amazed at how heavy the box was that contained it meaning there was a lot of copper in this box the court itself is actually really beautiful flexible and easy to handle the build quality on the plugins was amazing it’s fit my needs perfectly I was an incredible bang for your buck compared to what I paid for my original cord it was also 5 ft longer than the original one which was good because I had to relocate where the original connection box was the functionality of build quality of the cord I would say is considerably better than what I had so this would be an upgrade the functionality of the plugins on the cord are also Superior to what I originally had the connection box was just a plus all in all the value for the money the fit the construction and the functionality was a win-win for me I would definitely recommend this to anybody who was interested
