   Reviewing 30w Portable Solar Panels for Power-Bank: I ordered this for hiking trips, so I can keep my watch and my phone charged. I’ve found it is slow to charge either, but if I hang it opened, off the back of my backpack, plugged into my power bank while I am hiking, it will keep my power bank charged and then I can use my power bank to charge my devices quicker. It is compact and a nice design, with both USB-A and USB-c ports (1 of each). My only complaint is it does not come with a case (not even a soft-sided one). It’s delicate enough that it should come with one. Rating 4 stars.

   I do have a few other fold-up solar panels, including one that was used on a long hike. I do have other fold-up solar panels with three panels, including this one. The price for this one is an exceptionally reasonable one, especially given the fact that these can be much more expensive. Similar to my other panels, this one comes with four quick-release carabiners. From experience, it’s easy to simply hang on the outside of a backpack, but this panel is a hefty two-pound one. These panels aren’t charged when they arrived, however, I’m not worried about whether or not they work (they will). Solar options are usually considered to be a backup method, however, when one of mine was taken on the Long Trail, it became a primary one. It was used to charge a phone and worked exceptionally well. These panels aren’t meant to power up something like a tablet, but is rather meant to be used with smaller devices such as a cell phone. That doesn’t mean this won’t charge up a tablet, but is more suitable for smaller devices. Unless it’s really sunny out, these panels would take some time to charge. When I put panels like these outside to charge, I try to place them at a 45° angle to maximize coverage. I do that with the smaller, flexible solar panels as well. I’m enamored with anything solar, but have to be realistic as to how much power I can draw from them in my particular location. Before folding them up, make sure you dust the panels off because dusty panels can cause damage to them. I do love this type of solar panel, but I’m biased … in a positive way. As mentioned, the price is more than equitable (under $40), but make sure to check out the specs and be realistic about the capabilities of these panels in your area. This setup I love and had I seen it in my local big box store, it would have been in my cart.    Nice set of portable panels. Folds up nicely. Like both the C and A connections. Left it out to charge a cell phone and sure enough it did. Took awhile but such is the nature of these little solar panels. That it worked it what mattered! Recommend!

   This is a really nice product. The 3 panels fold together to form a compact travel sized unit, approximately the size of a laptop. The built in USB-C and USB-A ports is a really nice touch and allows charging while camping etc. Probably best to charge to a power bank rather than directly to a phone.

   My only wish is that it would come with a travel pouch to keep it all together.
