   Wanted this to power an outdoor camera. The solar panel’s great. I’ve never had one before (beyond those little spinner thingies we had as kids back in the 70s –y’know, the ones in the glass bubble), so this was kinda cool. Sadly, the camera turned out to be junk, so I’ll be looking to find this puppy a new friend to power. 🙂 Sooooooo glad it’s not proprietary and simply uses a USB connection. Zero complaints. 🙂

   I got this to see if it would work the camera as it does claim in the ad and it does so far I could tell the battery life is going down a little bit, but not much, and that is only because the sun has not been out full blast so I cannot blame these solar panel whatsoever. It does seem to be doing his job. It’s fairly compact and slim not heavy at all very easy to install. Looks good. I’m not too big on solar panels. I’m starting to get more used to it and this one does seem like it’s built pretty well or at least consistent with all the rest of the ones I have seen or used. Basically just plug and play. And you won’t have to worry about changing out batteries as often or if you live in a very sunny area maybe you won’t ever have to do it again
   END RESULT: if you don’t want to change out the camera batteries as often as you would without one of these, then I suggest get one of these and that will help that out for sure. It’s a good product. Does what it says. It’s going to do. I believe the value in price match each other pretty well.

   I ordered this solar panel for use with an older Reolink battery camera that was losing battery capacity. When this panel arrived, I realized the USB-C and the DC connectors didn’t match the camera’s Micro USB. After finding an adapter for the USB-C to Micro USB I plugged it in and the camera recognized the solar panel as the power source. Since I installed this solar panel, the camera reports 100% battery level most of the time, sometimes dipping to the lower 90’s percentage. This 8W panel has a unique mounting system that is an improvement over most, in my experience. The 8W power output meets the needs of my camera. Recommended!

   This solves a lot of problems for me. I have a camera on a southern facing wall and I was struggling to keep it charged, because the other solar panel I had was not catching enough sun. So, the fact that this panel is bigger and has a greater output at 8w, and has a better way to face up (the mounting attachment), it is solving my charging problem. The quality of the materials will be tested over the next few months as our temperature creep up, but nighttime still drops low. The plastic looks different, more cream colored, and I don’t know what that means to the longevity, but the manufacturer knew this would be in the sun. The installation wasn’t tough, but it definitely benefited from being able to fit the pieces with the thumb screws and making adjustments before tightening. I also needed to use an adapter for the USB end. My camera is not Ring, so it uses a different style, but an inexpensive transition piece and it worked like a dream. I charged the camera with house power about a week ago and it was at 73% connected to the old solar panel today. It has already gone up 1% as I’ve been typing this. I’m really happy with this panel and will revisit the review if I see any temperature generated problems.

   This panel works perfectly and is plug n play with my Wansview outdoor camera. I kept getting a message on my Wansview app that my camera’s battery was depleted. It was a much smaller solar panel that came with the camera a few years ago and it had apparently stopped working. So I plugged this into the camera using the USB-C adapter that came with the panel and I immediately saw on my app that it had battery power. It has worked perfectly so far, keeping the camera fully charged. This is outside in the weather and has so far been unaffected by storms, snow, ice and cold. Works well for my application and likely for any application that uses USB-C. Good value for the money.

   I love the size of this solar panel from Leaf 10.
   The panel itself is 10-1/2” wide by 7-7/8” tall, including the ‘lip’ edge at the bottom of the frame. So the panel is twice as big as most camera solar panels but I don’t find it obtrusive at all. It’s still much smaller than the satellite dishes you see on many houses.
   I ordered this panel to replace a standard size one that has stopped charging for some reason.
   The panel comes with all the hardware necessary for installation. It’s well made, solid, was easy to assemble and install and easy to connect. And it began charging the camera immediately. What more can you ask for?
