   As a recent convert to the world of electric vehicles (EVs), I quickly ran into a snag – not enough outlets! We added a second EV to our household, and suddenly that single charger wasn’t enough. An electrician to install a new outlet was an option, but a pricey one. Enter the Kanayu 14-50P Y Splitter Adapter Cord. Double the Charge, Half the Outlet Hassle: This splitter has been a lifesaver! Now I can charge both our EVs at the same time using just one outlet. It’s a much more affordable solution than hiring an electrician. Bulkier Than Expected, But Fits: The splitter is a bit bulkier than the standard charging cables that came with our vehicles. This took a little extra effort to manage when connecting them to the already-mounted chargers on the wall. But it wasn’t a dealbreaker – the splitter still fits comfortably in the designated charging area in our garage. Flexibility Matters (Especially in Tight Spaces): The cable itself isn’t the most flexible. This made it a bit of a challenge to maneuver the splitter and get the plugs securely connected into the existing chargers. Having a little more give in the cable would have been ideal. While it seems like a small thing, trust me – this is the way to go! The snug fit of the plugs combined with the stiffer cable made connecting everything while the splitter was plugged in a bit awkward. Overall: Despite a couple of minor challenges, the Kanayu Y Splitter is a great solution for charging multiple EVs from a single outlet. It’s affordable, easy to use, and gets the job done. Just be prepared for a slightly bulkier device and consider plugging your chargers into the splitter before connecting it to the wall outlet. Here’s who I would recommend this for: EV owners who need to charge multiple vehicles but only have one outlet. People traveling with an RV and an EV and need to have both connected. People who are looking for an affordable solution to expand their EV charging capabilities. Here’s who I would not recommend this for: Folks who need a super-flexible cable for tight spaces.

   So far, so good. Haven’t used it for very long but so far it is working great. I use it as a splitter for two EVSE chargers running at 40amps. (But only one at a time!) Doesn’t even get warm at all.

   I use this make my stove share an outlet with an EV charger. It works well, just remember that this isn’t a smart splitter like a neocharge. You absolutely need to know exactly how much power you’re using or to just use one device at a time.

   I can use my stove without any change in performance and no heat being felt going through the line of this splitter. I’m taking that to mean that the insulation is superb and that the wiring is safe. Same deal for when I’m using my extension cord + level 2 charger with the other side.

   This is worth every penny. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do and it does it within the parameters of the device itself. You just need to be mindful, this splitter is awesome.

   Using it to split power off my RV connection to charge my Tesla. It has worked flawlessly. Great price too!. I’ve left it connected to the RV permanently. Just plug the car in as needed.

   I bought this splitter so I could have both my house plugged in plus I could use the other lead to operate tools. Yes my house, a doublewide mobile, plugs into a pole. 4 prong 240. To use 220 tools I had to unplug the house for the outlet. With this splitter I can have both the house with power and have an outlet for tools.
   My intentions are for occasional temporary use. The cord is very heavy duty and the plug and two outlets look strong. On initial use things were tight. On subsequent use I use a spray lube (wd40-similar) lightly and all plug in and pull out nicely.

   Looking at pictures of competitive products I was concerned I was going to get something that had been “rounded up” to 3ft. Pleasant surprise: what I got is definitely 3ft, and I’d get it again.

    I’m using it to pull two chargers from one 250V outlet to charge my e-bike batteries. It would also work great to power up two campers from one outlet. The wire is really thick and molded in nice protective jacket, however, the molded plugs are not heat molded against the cable and show gaps on every side. This means the water will be able to easily get inside the mold, although I’m not sure how is it molded inside. Usually the plugs are molded against the wire leaving no gaps or spaces for water to get in. Maybe it is waterproof inside and the water wont be reaching the actual wire connections inside, but I was not interested in trying it out and decided just to keep it out of the direct water.
