   To preface this review, my wife and I have owned a similar-capacity solar generator for the last few years. For reference, that one cost nearly three times as much as this while only offering slightly more capacity. Because of this, I feel uniquely equipped to compare and assess what makes a great portable power station. The most surprising part? This one is every bit as good as the expensive one—every bit. In fact, in multiple ways, this one is even better. I particularly appreciate the variety of ports, which are far more versatile than those on the pricier unit we own. That one only has two standard USB ports, a single three-prong outlet, and a 12V automotive outlet, which can be extremely limiting. This FlashFish model, on the other hand, has six power outputs—including multiple USB-C ports—as well as the lighter adapter, making it far more functional for different devices. And it delivers great power, too—I had my phone connected to the high-wattage USB-C port, and it charged faster than any charger I’ve used. Another major advantage is the screen, which is far superior to the small monochrome display on my other unit. On top of that, this power station works incredibly well for my portable studio lights. Since they draw so little power, I can run multiple hour-long photography sessions and still have plenty of battery left. The only negative I can call out on this whole device is the peculiar exclusion of the charger. You read that right, this device does not come with a charger intentionally. It did come with a small USB-C cable, so I am assuming you can charge it with that, as the manual appears to indicate, provided you have a brick powerful enough, but there is no dedicated charger included with this product. I’m pretty positive you can use the universal power adapters as long as they meet the requirements listed on the port, but do bear in mind that an official charger is not included. The battery life is so good I have not had to charge it yet, so I will definitely update this review if anything noteworthy comes up. Strange, but not a deal killer because the rest is so well implemented. Overall, I’m more than impressed—highly, highly recommended all around!

   I say “so far so good” because when it comes to battery power stations, a lot of the real answers about quality come out over months and years as the item proves to have quality cells and staying power or… doesn’t. In this case, we’re chugging along very well so far, with no complaints. The controls/interface could stand to be a little more refined, but this is a bit more of a budget item so it’s a forgivable shortcoming.

   We often lose power for a few hours in our rural area due to storms and construction. So having something that can charge and run simple items is a must. We have a larger backup power station for longer outages. But I wanted something small and portable for my home office and bedroom. I need to be able to have the internet connection and charge my phone and fan. As long as the modem has power the fiber works, so I have phone and internet. I don’t know about all the electrical stuff or wattage, but it works for what I needed to. It is a slower charger which is good for the battery life of the power source. I make sure to check it every week to see if it needs to be charged. I also use it to randomly charge things just to keep in good condition. I like that it has different size outlets so you can use it for new and old chargers and having one of the plug on the back to directly plug into is great. I usually use this for my fan or lamp. I would not recommend plugging something into every single outlet though as it will make everything charge much slower but if you only have one or two devices, it will charge them relatively fast depending on the cord you use. Overall, it is compact and lightweight. You can easily move it from place to place and because it charges with a USB-C cord you don’t have to worry about some random branded cord that you can never find. I definitely would not use the outdoors as electricity and wind and water. Don’t typically mix but if you’re traveling and you need something that can charge computers and tablets. This works really well also for an emergency kit just don’t expect it to power heavy duty stuff. as far as value goes, I think the price might be a little on the higher side for a unknown brand, but I would see if the price fluctuates to under a Benjamin it’d be a good deal.

   This little power station is packed with features. It has an external light that is bright enough to illuminate a small room (not daylight but bright enough to see). It will be great inside a tent. It has two usb c outputs (18 w and 60 w) and two usb a outputs. One of the usb c outs (the 60 watt) also doubles as an input for charging. There is a 15-30 volt input source that you can connect to an external charging source (like solar panels or wind power) and a 12 volt output that you can use with the supplied “cigarette lighter” 12 volt power plug. Finally, there is a 200 watt 120vac non grounded plug on the side. There is a hole for the grounding prong, but it doesn’t actually ground the ac appliance. You can use it with a 3 prong plug, but the appliance will not be grounded for obvious reasons. In terms of use, mine arrived at 75% charge. It took about 3 hours to charge up to 100% using the usb c input and an 87 watt laptop charger. I was able to use the 60 watt output to charge my laptop from 44% to 100% in about 1 hour and 15 minutes, and that consumed 25% of the power bank charge. The included manual is pretty poorly done. Mostly it is confusing because there seems to be portions of sentences from other sections appended to the end of the previous section, making it confusing to understand. Once I realized this, I ignored the last sentence of each section, and it became more understandable, and with some trial and error I figured it all out. The manual needs to be re-edited. Once you get the basics, it’s pretty self explanatory. There are only 4 labeled buttons to worry about. Here is my manual: Long press the “on/off” button to turn on and and off. You short press this button to turn on and off the usb outputs. There are two separate labeled buttons to turn on and off the ac outlet and the 12 volt DC output, and another button to control the light. The light button cycles between on, flashing, and off. You can long press the light button when it is on to turn it off and skip the flashing, which I like. You should turn off any function you’re not using to conserve the battery, especially the USB and the AC, as those do draw some phantom power to do the voltage conversions. My only minor complaint is that I wish they had made the usb out button a separate function, and grouped with the other output buttons instead of overloading the on/off button. It is the only button that has a dual function, and it seems strange. There is plenty of room for a separate button and would be more logical. Overall, I think this unit is going to do exactly what I need it to do, mainly supply power for charging cellphones and emergency radios while camping, and the included tent light it a really great bonus. Paired with a solar panel (which I still need to get), this should allow for extended off grid camping.

   This is actually the third power station that I have experience with. My daughter had given us one for Christmas years and now this and another I have had the honor of trying, testing, and reviewing. For this one, the light on the handle – of all the things, I know, LOL – is ‘like’ my favorite thing. It flashes SOS as well and is a task light. When I plug in my phone to charge, both ways, in the AC and the USBs, it is the same exact amount of time as my regular house outlet, pleasantly surprised. This one is also a plus because it has power saving button, so it will turn off in 6 hours if you want. The display is accurate, pleasant to look at, a nice warm white tone, you see the watts you are using. The charge time is a bit more than 1% per minute, another great thing, so within 10 minutes I am 13% more charged consistently. I did try to purchase the cable for a solar panel but it is currently unavailable. The nice about that is that in the owner’s manual, they give you the part number, so I was excited to order but, again, not available. The fan on it works for cooling the unit. I have zero complaints and say it is worth considering. And, the part number for the cable is DC7909/Mo4.
