Pros: I no longer have to charge my Nest Cameras in low traffic areas where I have an OK amount of sun. The panels are higher quality than the last set, and the panels themselves are bigger. This should also be better for use in higher traffic areas where I live (Sunnyvale, CA).
Cons: Solar mode does not record all the time. This means the cameras will inevitably miss something. This is a Nest design, and I get it. I just didn’t know at first so its something you should know too.
Also a quick note on the construction. I’m not happy about the plastic construction that makes up the frame. It feels flimsy, and is not weather-sealed but it definitely drops the price of this, so its a tradeoff that may make sense. There are holes in the back that ‘may’ be for draining water.
Time will tell.
I will update this review as it gets more use.

2 Pack 8 Watt Solar Panels – $50.99
These small solar panels are great to use how they’re intended, or to use in a row of solar panels for camping or power outages.
Has a 13 foot cable and is completely weatherproof!

These solar panels are great quality, weather-resistant, and work exactly as promised to keep the Nest cameras charged without constant battery swaps. Installation was simple, and they’ve held up perfectly through wind, rain, and Texas sun. I highly recommend them if you want a hassle-free power solution for your outdoor cameras.

These works as described. It’s basically plug and play. Works with my cameras with no issues.

Due to an unspecified issue with Google, this third party device cannot charge the Nest Cameras after dark. During daytime operation, they don’t even appear to be very effective at charging the batteries!
To be fair, they are well made and simple to install but completely useless.
