   There is a lot to like about this cord/power entry set. Other than 10ft is turning out to be a little short for my use, I can’t really find anything wrong with it. The power entry box is heavy gauge metal with a strong corrosion coating on it. The cover flips up to expose the outlet and also pushes down and securely covers the hole. There is a power indicator LED on the cover also. There are knockouts on the bottom, sides, and back for power exits. It is a quality box with little wasted space. The cord fits securely and locks in. The outlet end is a molded 45 deg connector easy to grip and brings the cord down at a nice angle to help reduce loading on the outlet. It also has a power indicator LED. The other end of the cable is a standard RV style 50A molded connector with finger rings making for easy connect/disconnect. The jacket is a heavy duty vinyl type material. A carry bag and a cord keeper lanyard (excellent idea) is also included. It is a decent value for the money, but if doing it over would have opted for a slightly longer cord.

   This generator cord works really nicely. I recently upgraded from 30 amp to a 50 amp gen, and upgraded my service, and I’m able to power a lot more in my house than I previously was able to. I am not sure the amperage going through it, but feel it must be over 30A and probably closer to 40A, and this cable does just fine and doesn’t heat up at all. Very pleased with it overall. It is a little pricey at $95 but quality isn’t something you want to skip on here as it could have dangerous results. Would recommend.

   This seems to be well made. I like that it matches my generator-not many cables are blue. The fact that it has a twist-on waterproof collar is nice, not all do. I got the 10’ length, which is just enough for my outdoor connection.

   The cord is well sized for its rating and the cable is on the stiff side but not excessive given the wire gauge. The orientation of both the plug and receptacle follow convention and will hang downwards when plugged into equipment with standard orientation convention. The indicator lamps on the SS2-50 plug and receptacle are helpful to advise when gear is energized. The cable strap and bag are kind of light duty for the heft of the cable. The receptacle box has ample room to make up connections, even with #6 conductors, and can accomodate a number of different land-side cable entrances. The over-molded strain reliefs are solid and fulfill their function reliably. The cable itself is smooth but not slippery and of average abrasion resistance. The SS2-50 is configured so it will also interchange with its California Standards counter part (CS6375).

   Right out of the box, I noticed how heavy-duty and durable this generator cord is. Additionally, the power inlet box the cord came with is also heavy-duty and large enough to easily connect the appropriately sized wires inside the box. The generator extension cord features an NEMA 14-50P plug on one end and a NEMA SS 2-50R receptacle on the other end. The end with the receptacle also features a threaded ring that keeps the receptacle properly seated in the power inlet box. The extension cord also comes with a large storage bag and a handy easy-to-use plastic cord wrap handle, which makes it simple and easy to keep the cord properly stored. The generator power inlet box seems to be a high-quality and robust receptacle box with a large and easy-to-use receptacle cover. This receptacle box comes with a preinstalled ground cable, mounting hardware, and instructions and features plastic hole plugs on the left and right sides of the box as well as the bottom and back sides of the box. This receptacle box also features a green LED indicator lamp that indicates when the receptacle is energized. The terminal screws are easy to get a screwdriver on since they are angled such that the screw holes are accessible on either side of the top corners of the front plate. After test-fitting the generator extension cord with this receptacle box, I found that the generator extension cord fits perfectly in the receptacle and easily twist-locked into place properly. I especially appreciate the amount of room inside the receptacle box that allows easy installation of the necessary wires and wire nuts. Overall, this generator extension cord and power inlet box both seem to be high-quality, durable, and heavy-duty. As heavy-duty as the cord is, it is still flexible enough to easily work with. The green LED indicator lamp on the power inlet box is a nice addition to the receptacle box and the large cover makes it easy to open and close with gloves on.

   This is one great generator power box and extension cord kit in my opinion! It did take some time and effort to install, but the end result was worth it for sure. We have a lot of hurricanes in our state, so I was happy to install this set along with my transfer switch to be ready for the upcoming season. The components are well made and high quality, and the included cord weighs a lot and seems to be heavy duty. The plug on the cord fit the plug on my portable generator perfectly, and the functionality of the twist lock on the outlet box works well. I think this product is a great value at this price point, so I would not hesitate to recommend it!
